My name is Meredith Wohl.
I am a recent graduate of the College of Charleston, where I earned Bachelor's of Arts in History and Communication, with minors in Political Science and Jewish Studies. I now live and work both full-time and as a freelance photographer in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Peering into the lens of my first camera at age 13, I immediately craved the thrill of sharing compelling visual stories through photography. Hungry for editorial guidance, I became motivated by the vividly telling photography featured in news sources on television, in music, and magazines. After immersing myself in news coverage of global breaking news, editorial perspectives on current events, and large-scale events like music festivals on social media platforms, public radio, and television, I was resolved to pursue photography and public broadcasting professionally. My work travelling the country covering the vivid colors, flavors, and sounds of festivals deeply resonates with all that I've learned studying the history and mandate of public media.
Through my work with these media outlets, I have covered 11 music festivals across the country as a credentialed photographer and reporter. From the radical sounds of SXSW to the celebration of local flavors at the Charleston Wine & Food Festival, my work at large-scale events across the nation provides me with a dynamic perspective to documenting events and developing visually-grounded stories.
I love nothing more than capturing the energy and essence of live events and people.
